“This I recall to my mind, therefore have I hope. 22 It is of the LORD’S mercies that we are not consumed, because his compassions fail not. 23 They are new every morning: great is thy faithfulness.” (Lamentations 3:21-23)
According to the Bible, God’s mercies are new every morning (Lamentations 3:22-23), and God blesses us because of His mercies (Psalm 67:1). The Bible also teaches us that even when we approach God’s Throne of Grace in prayer, the first thing we obtain is the mercy of God before we can receive God’s grace to help us in the time of need (Hebrews 4:16). Therefore, it is clear that God supplies every blessing and help that we need because of His mercies.
Now, if God’s mercies are new every day, then His blessings and help for us are new every day also! God wants us to understand this basic truth and release our faith in Him accordingly. Like God told the children of Israel in their journey on the way to the Promised Land, we ought to trust Him that He will faithfully send us a fresh supply of “manna” every day. Furthermore, the Bible says that God daily loads us with benefits! (Psalm 68:19). Finally, as our Lord Jesus Christ taught us in Matthew 6:11, we ought to believe and confidently ask God, every day, to supply to us our “daily bread” (i.e. all that we need daily).
God wants us to receive and enjoy new supply of His blessings in all aspects of our lives every day, every week, every month, and every year! It is lack of knowledge and understanding of this truth that has hindered many of us from releasing our faith and hope in God in order to receive His new supply of blessings that He has for us from time to time! (see Hosea 4:6).
The followings are key truths that you need to understand and do in order to rightly position yourself to receive and enjoy God’s new supply for you.
Forget The Past
Often times, our focus on past experiences (whether positive or negative) hinders us from receiving the new supply that God has for us. That is why God said we not remember (i.e. forget) past things so that we may be able to appropriate the new things He has for us (Isaiah 43:18-19; Isaiah 42:9). Therefore, choose to forget your past successes, victories, blessings, failures, losses disappointments, frustrations, etc. God has a new and better supply for you in terms of successes, victories, and blessings, and can turn your failures, losses, disappointments, frustrations, etc. around for good!
Ask God in Faith
Asking in faith (i.e. in agreement with God’s Word) is required in order to receive God’s new supply. You cannot take the things of God for granted! You need to ask before you can receive (James 4:2; Matthew 7:7). Also, your asking must be done in faith (James 1:6; James 4:3) because “without faith it is impossible to please God” (Hebrews 11:6).
Be Thankful To God Always
If you truly believe, you will be thankful to God in expectation of His new supply for you. Don’t let disappointing past experiences get you into murmuring or complaining. Such attitudes grieve the Holy Spirit. Rather, as it is written, “In every thing give thanks: for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you.” (1 Thessalonians 5:18). God is always faithful! He never fails! The Bible says those who know God’s name will trust in Him because He will never forget the needy nor disappoint their expectation! (Psalm 9:10, 18). Therefore, be thankful to God always!
